Seriously, though, I hope things go well on the heart front. Did they discuss any meds, like a low daily dose of aspirin? And out of curiosity, did you have issues with high cholesterol or hypertension prior? (If you don't want to answer that, just ignore me, I'm wondering because docs are always fussing about those issues and I'm not convinced that they really are heart attack indicators all the time, though I could be wrong....)

They didn't mention low-dose aspirin...yet. They might in the future. I've had issues with hypertension since I was 21. I've been taking enalapril (an ACE inhibitor) for 20 years; I've also been taking furosemide (diuretic) for seven years, as I started retaining fluid then. I've been on a statin (Lipitor) since I was 40.

Now, the cardiologist acknowledged all that, but he seemed more interested in my family history, which screams heart disease. As in my father, uncle, and all four grandparents. So there's that.
